冠词

（一）定冠词

1. 表特指，翻译为“这个/那个”，也可不翻译

2. 独一无二的事物

e.g. the moon, the sun, the world

3. 再次提及的某人/某物

注：独一无二的事物前的冠词在译为“一个”时，需要使用不定冠词a/an。

e.g. If we produce less pollution, we’ll have a bluer sky and a better world.

4. 表示双方都知道的人或事物

e.g. There is a book on the desk. The book is an English book.

5. 在方位词前（八个方位词，左右，中间）

e.g. in the west/east, on the left/right

6. 形容词最高级前译为“最…”

注：副词前一般省略“the”

7. 序数词前译为“第几” 强调次序

8. 演奏乐器

e.g. play the piano/violin/guitar/erhu

9. the＋姓氏复数：表示一家人；做主语时，谓语动词用复数

10. the＋形容词表示一类人；做主语时，谓语动词用复数

（二）不定冠词

1. 表泛指，翻译为“一；某；每”

2. 表示首次提及且表示泛指

3. 形容词最高级前加a/an，译为“非常”，相当于very

注：判断是“最…”还是“非常…”需要看是否有范围的说明

注意区分如下两个例句：

e.g. She is a most beautiful girl.

她是一个非常漂亮的女孩。

She is the most beautiful girl in her class.

她是她班上最漂亮的女孩。

4. 序数词前加a／an; 表示“再一，又一”；相当于another

e.g. Can you give me a second cup of water?

Can you give me another cup of water?

你可以再给我一杯水吗？

5. a/an的区别

a用在辅音音素前，an用在元音音素前

常考词：

a European country an honest boy

a university an hour

6. 表示频率的短语中，译为“每”

e.g. three times a day

（三）零冠词

1. 球类运动

e.g. play basketball/football

2. 学科名称

3. 三餐

e.g. have breakfast/lunch/supper/dinner

注：三餐之前有修饰词，前要加冠词

e.g. have a quick breakfast, have a big dinner

4. 星期，月份，季节

e.g. in May, in autumn, on Sunday

5. by＋交通工具

e.g. by car/bike/train

注：on a/the train, take a/the train

（四）短语中加the不加the意思有区别

1. in front of 在… 外部的前面

in the front of 在…内部的前面

2. hospital, school, church, table 加the 表地点；不加the 表功能

at school上学 in hospital 住院

in the school 在学校里 in the hospital 在医院里

at church 做礼拜 at table 吃饭

at the church 在教堂里 at the table 在桌子旁

3. in charge of 管理（主动）

An experienced worker is in charge of the project.

in the charge of 被…管理（被动）

The project is in the charge of an experienced worker.

in possession of 拥有（主动）

We are in possession of those buildings.

in the possession of 由…拥有（被动）

Those buildings are in the possession of us.
