    Please be quiet, boys!
    Come this way, please.
Do keep away from the fire!
    2. 否定式在谓语动词前加Don’t或Do not,强调否定式则在动词前加Never。如:
Don’t alway make the same mistake.
    Never be late again.
    You come here!
    You mind your head!
    Don’t you come here!

Let me have a try if you don’t want to.
Let’s spend this weekend in the country.
Let him be here by ten o’clock.
    Jane, sit down please.
Mum, remember to bring me an umbrella.
Let’s not wast our time about it.
Don’t let us wait here.
Don’t let him go out.

    Just a minute, please!
    This way, please!
    Attention! 立正!
    Up the stairs!
To the playground, everyone of you!
    No smoking!
    No parking!
    No photos!
    May you succeed!
    Long live our friendship!

    祈使句无主语, 主语you常省去;
    动词原形谓语当, 句首加don't否定变;
    朗读应当用降调, 句末常标感叹号。

    祈使句的语调特点 :
    1、语音强度一般比陈述句重,书面上用叹号表示。
    2、句末用降调,较长句子的后半部分几个音节速度加快。

    对特定的人使用的祈使句:
    祈使句如Wait here! (在这儿等着!) 可以是对一个人说,也可以是对几个人说,其主语暗含you。
    但我们却可以用下列方式引起我们说话的对象的注意:
    ■You+祈使语气动词
You wait here for a moment.
    语调和重音很重要。在上面这一句里,如果不重读you,那么句子的意思是this is where you wait (这就是你应等着的地方);
如果重读you,那么句子的意思就是this is what I want you to do (这是我要你做的事)。
You mind your own business!
You try teaching 40 noisy children five days a week!
Don’t you speak to me like that!

    ■“you+人名”或“人名+you”
You wait here, Jim, and Mary, you wait there.

Drink up your milk, Sally!
Sally, drink up your milk!

    Enjoy yourself.
    Behave yourself.

    Everyone keep quiet!
    Keep still everybody!
    Nobody say a word!
Somebody answer the phone please.

Don’t say a word anybody!
Don’t anybody say a word!

    即行为动词,表示动作的动词。实义动词与系动词是相对的,能独立用作谓语。
    它分为及物动词和不及物动词两种:
    及物动词是指后面要求有直接宾语的动词;
    不及物动词指后面不需要跟宾语的动词。

I believe that the committee will consider our suggestion.
“How long can I keep the book ?”Harry asked.
Dr. Bethune set us a good example.
Crude oil contains many useful substances.

    Birds fly.
    It happened in June 1932.
    My watch stopped.
She spoke at the meeting yesterday evening.

    Shall I begin at once?
She began working as a librarian after she left school.
When did they leave Chicago?
They left last week.
    Wash your hands before meals.
Does this cloth wash well?

We arrived at the railway station at noon.
We reached the railway station at noon.)
Everybody listened to the lecture with great interest.
We all heard the lecture.)
Do they agree to the plan?

Our children are taught to serve the people wholeheartedly.

Trying without success is better than not trying at all.
He hated himself for not having work hard.
I’m sorry for not having telephoned you before.
He felt sorry for not having done the work well.
I fancy it has done you a lot of good not going.
There is no denying the fact that he si diligent.

Do you think my going there will be of any help?
The student’s knowing English well helps him in learning French.
    Do you mind my(me) smoking ?
They insist on Mary’s (Mary) going with them there.
Do you hear the rain pattering on the roof?
Is there any hope of our team winning the match ?
    (3) 逻辑主语是指示代词或不定代词this that , somebody , someone , nobody, none, anybody, anyone 时,只用普通格。如:
She was woken up by somebody shouting outside.

We are very interested in collecting stamps.
His coming will be of great help to us .
I shall never forget seeing the Great Wall for the first time.
On hearing that bad news , the mother couldn’t help crying.
Excuse me for coming late.
Thank you for giving us so much help.
He regrets not having taken part in the work.
We were praised for having finished the work ahead of time.
I like being given harder work.
She is proud of being admitted into the university.
The meeting was put off without his having been consulted.
He doesn’t mind having been criticized.

Speaking in the public,he will surely be very cheerful .
She hates speaking in the public.

My hobby is swimming.
The story is interesting . Interesting is the story.
    2.动名词和现在分词都可以用作定语来修饰名词,两者的区别在于:
    动名词修饰名词时主要表示该名词的用途,而现在分词修饰名词时性质、状态或动作等。试比较:
    ①a swimming boy和a swimming suit
    前者的意思是“一个正在游泳的男孩”,即a boy who is swimming,现在分词swimming 表示被修饰名词boy的动作;
    而后者的意思是“游泳衣”,即a suit for swimming,动名词swimming表示suit 的用途。
②a sleeping child 和 a sleeping car
    前者的意思是“一个正在睡觉的孩子”,即a child who is sleeping,现在分词sleeping 表示被修饰名词 child 正处于的状态;
而后者的意思是“卧车(被用来睡觉的车厢)”,即 a car which is used for sleeping,动名词 sleeping 表示car 的用途。

Swimming is a good sport in summer.
It is no use telling him not to worry.
    3. 用于“There be”结构中。例如:
There is no saying when he'll come.
No smoking ( =No smoking is allowed (here) ).
    No parking.
Their coming to help was a great encouragement to us.

admit, appreciate, excuse, stand, advise, allow, permit, avoid,  consider, enjoy, finish
They went on walking and never stopped talking.
I found it pleasant walking along the seashore.
Mark often attempts to escape being fined whenever he breaks traffic  regulations.
We are thinking of making a new plan for the next term.
Shall we have a rest or get down to doing our work?
The music is well worth listening to more than once.
We are busy preparing for the coming sports meet.

Your task is cleaning the windows.
(Cleaning the windows is your task.)
What I hate most is being laughed at.
(Being laughed at is what I hate most.)

a walking stick =a stick for walking=a stick which is used for walking
a washing machine=a machine for washing=a machine which is used for washing
a reading room=a room for reading=a room which is used for reading
a measuring tape=a tape for measuring=a tape which is used for measuring
sleeping pills=pills for sleeping=pills which is used for sleeping

    一般式 writing being  written
    having written
    having been written

I would appreciate you calling back this afternoon.
    4) 有些词后只能接动名词
    acknowledge;admit; advise;advocate;allow;appreciate; avoid; celebrate; consider; contemplate; defer; delay; deny;
    detest; discontinue; dislike; dispute; enjoy; it entails; escape; excuse; explain; fancy; feel like; finish; forgive; can’t help;
    hinder; imagine; it involves; keep; it means; mention; mind; miss; it necessitates; pardon; postpone; practice; prevent;
recall; report; resent; resist; risk; suggest; understand...
    5) 另外还有一些接-ing形式的常用说法
    it’s no good; it’s no/little/hardly any/ use; it’s not/hardly/scarcely use; it’s worthwhile; spend money/time; there’s no;
there’s no point in; there’s nothing worse than; what’s the use/point
    remember,forget,try,stop,go on,continue,stop,regret,cease,mean后面均可用不定式和-ing形式,但意义截然不容。
    例:remember to do/doing:
①I remembered to post the letters.(指未来/过去未来将要做的动作)
②I remembered posting/having posted the letters.(我记得做过这个动作)
①I regret to inform you that…(我很遗憾地通知你……)
②I regretted having left the firm after twenty years.(为了“二十年前的离开”而遗憾。)
     try to(努力)与try +–ing(试验):
①You really must try to overcome your shyness.
②Try practicing five hours a day.

I am watching TV now.
I watch TV every day.
    Lucy is living in Beijing.(短时间居住)
    Lucy lives in Beijing.
You’re always forgetting the most important things.
He is always helping others.
    He often helps others.
(四)有些动词不能用进行时,know, understand, love, like, hate, wish, want, think, hope, have, believe, agree, hear, see, notice,等等。
I have a lot of friends here.
She wants to buy a new bike.

例如:see(明白),know, want, like, hear, have(有), think, hope, hate等。
    I hear someone singing.
Do you see anyone over there?
What does he think of it?
Are you seeing someone off?
They are hearing an English talk.

这些动词往往是一些表示位置移动变化的动词:arrive, come, do, get, go, have, leave, meet, play, return, see, spend, start, stay, wear, work等。
    We are leaving on Friday。
    Are you going anywhere tomorrow?
A foreign guest is giving a lecture this afternoon。
Are you staying here till next week?
在表示将来的情况下,特别是be going to do sth.
It is going to be rather cold tomorrow。
She is not going to speak at the meeting。

①She is perpetually interfering in my affairs.
②The students are making progress constantly.

When you are passing my way, please drop in.

We are waiting for you.
Mr. Green is writing another novel.
She is learning piano under Mr. Smith.
I'm leaving for a trek in Nepal next week.(我下周要去尼泊尔旅行)
    We're flying to Paris tomorrow.(我们明天乘飞机去巴黎)现在进行时的应用
He is joining the army.
They are always helping us.
    They are playing basketball now.
    G.ook, listen
Listen! She is singing an English song.
We are making model planes these days.
