　　Hecht 是位于美国纽约的Adelphi 大学物理系最受欢迎的教授，主 要教授大学物理和光学课程。 对物理与数学、物理与艺术之间的 关系造诣极深，著作颇丰。自1967 年以来，他共写了97 部作品，这些著作被译 成10 种语言，全世界7870 个图书馆藏有他的著作，其中最经典的便是他编写的 这本光学教材。除此之外，他还编著了《Schaum's outline collegephysics》，《Schaum's outline algebra，Physics》等经典教材.为此，Eugene Hecht 1989年度获得了美国 艺术图书奖.。
