本书基于复合依存的理论框架, 将冷战后的中澳关系作为案例剖析了中澳关系的发展, 以及中澳建立全面战略合作伙伴关系的地缘政治和地缘经济动因。本书经过学理与实践分析, 得出不论是基于维持亚太地区的和平与稳定的现实主义, 抑或是寻求持久经济繁荣与发展的自由主义, 都在中澳两国的复合依存关系构建中发挥了重要作用, 并且不断夯实两国关系的基础。
