It's Jim's birthday, and he is five years old.  He gets a lot of nice birthday gifts(礼物) from his  parents, and one of them is a big drum. Jim likes the drum very much.  He makes a terrible(可怕的)  noise (嗓音)  with it ,  but his mother doesn't mind(介意) .   His father works all day and Jim is in  bed when he gets home in the eveing.
