When it comes to changes, to invasions to upheavals, there were two kinds of people. If a highway is built through their front yard, some people will be affronted, they will mourn the loss of privacy, of peony bushes and lilacs and a dimension of themselves. The other sort will see an opportunity-----they will put up a hotdog stand, get a fast food franchise, open a motel.

变迁、入侵、动乱到来的时候，会有两种人。如果修建的一条公路，要穿过他们的前院，一些人会觉得被冒犯，会因为失去隐私、牡丹花儿、紫丁香及个人空间而感到失意悲哀。另外一种人则会看到机会----他们会摆起热狗摊，卖起快餐或者开一家汽车旅馆。

所有事情必有两面，好的一面，或者坏的一面。智慧的人会看到好的一面，并视为契机，成为更好的自己。

you are what you're born to.

你生在什么样的家庭，你就是什么样子。

所以，凡是嫁娶，必须看对方的家庭，原生家庭会影响人的一生，切记、切记。

power breeds enemies.

权利造就仇敌。

若是你大权在握，必有敌人虎视眈眈，让你不得安宁。权倾天下甚好，可内心安宁最好。

the slow hand of fate is stretched to draw the veil and leave you bare.

命运之手缓缓揭开面纱，让你无有庇护。

到了一定年龄，你会发现一切皆有定数。所以，得意时，莫猖狂，也许会有好运离开的那一天；失意时，莫自暴自弃，终有一天，好运会回过头来找你。知足常乐，随遇而安就是智慧。
