一、“言出必行”怎么表达？

言出必行、信守承诺是我们经常会见到的一句谚语，之前也见过不少表达，比如keep your promise。前段时间马云在南非投资峰会（South Africa Investment Summit）的演讲，说道：

? He (your president) keeps the promise. He said come and to keep the promise is any entrepreneurs’ number-one priority. If you promise, you keep.

信守承诺是所有企业家首先要做到的。如果你做了承诺，就要遵守。

Keep your promise 也可以用deliver on your promise, deliver 有实现、履行的意思

这篇文章中用到了“be true to your word”

? What may at first seem a purely virtuous act that engenders no immediate pleasure—being true to your word, say—may eventually come to seem essential to well-being.

那些乍看上去似乎是纯粹的善行ー一比如言出必行ー一虽不会产生直接的快乐，最终却可能对福祉至关重要。

Be/stay true to your word 与你说的话保持一致，也就是说到做到。除了用true 还可以用live up to your words. Live up to 做到，不辜负，比如以前上学时经常会听到老师碎碎念：好好努力，不要辜负了父母对你的期望。也会用到live up to.

You should work hard and live up to your parents’ expectation.

“轰轰烈烈的”怎么说？

轰轰烈烈的，在具体语境下翻译也不一样，如果说是改革或运动，也可以用vigorous reform 或 campaign.

?  His（Mill’s） new aesthetic sense pushed him away from gung-ho reformism and gently towards conservatism.

他的新审美意识使他远离了轰轰烈烈的改良主义，逐渐走向保守主义。

Gung ho这个词从拼写和读音上就知道它是个外来词。 gung ho来源于中文的“工合”工业合作社，kung work+ho together。gung ho 最早出现在二战派驻亚洲地区的美国海军陆战队内。当时率领这支军队的Carlson中校借用了中文里的这个意思，将其作为军中口号，鼓励部下齐心协力，勇往直前。现在gung ho既可以当名词也可以当形容词，表示热情／卖力。 科林斯上的解释是:extremely or excessively enthusiastic about something。对。。。事情极其热情，热心从事。

像表示某人热衷于女权运动，就可以说Paula is certainly guns ho on equal rights for women. Paula确实热衷于女权运动。

表示某人热衷于环境保护、慈善事业也都可以用be gung ho on environment protection/charity。

这一句里还可以学习一个句型远离。。。走向。。。away from A and towards B.

这里是说密尔的审美意思从改良主义reformism走向保守主义conservatism。

比如远离纷争，走向和谐，就可以说We should deepen cooperation to be away from conflicts, towards harmony.

像消费者或者用户换选择，也可以用这个表达，如：BBC iPlayer moves away from Flash and towards HTML5.

BBC iPlayer播客服务现在从flash 软件转向由html5来播放了。

三、“激烈的讨论”怎么说？

每次出现热点的时候，经常会听到和见到事件报道会说关于。。。引起了热烈／激烈的讨论。那么热烈、激烈的讨论怎么说？
