     Do you know why different animals or pests (昆虫) have their special colors? Colors in them can protect
(保护) them.
     Some birds like eating locusts (蝗虫), but birds can't easily catch them. Why? It's because locusts change
their colors together with the change of the colors of the crops (庄稼).
     When crops are green, locusts look green. But as the harvest (收获) time comes, locusts change to the
same color as crops have.
     If you study the animal life, you'll find the use of coloring is to protect themselves. Bears, lions and other
animals move quietly through forests. Hunters can't find them easily. This is because ①they have the colors
much like the trees.
     A kind of fish in the sea can send out a kind of black liquid (液体) when it ②faces danger. While the liquid
spread (扩散) over, it can't be found (被发现). And it immediately swims away. ③It is not strong at all, but it
can live up to now.
