阅读理解。
One afternoon, when the lessons were over, John and Mike Ford did not go home. They stayed at
school to help their teacher. Their teacher was starting a library in the school and the boys helped him to
carry some books. They worked for one hour. Then the teacher said, "Thank you, boys. We will finish
the work tomorrow. Now you must go home."
When the boys got home, it was seven. It was dark outside but there was a light inside their home
and the door was open. They could see a man inside.

me but I'm your father's friend. He has asked me to fetch (取, 拿) some money for him. The man did not
see Mike.

fetch a policeman. He soon found one and brought him back to their home. The man was still there, but
