这个表达我们已经讲了很多遍，这次再拓展两个，也是丰富英文写作或翻译句型。文中在提到关于小鲜肉所表现的的阴柔男性形象，引起观众担忧，甚至是主流媒体也开始关注此类现象，用到了如下的表达：

Yet the boy band’s appearance last month on a patriotic children’s show caused a kerfuffle, and not just among fans.

 然而新F4上月在一档儿童公益节目《开学第一课》上的形象引起争论。

kerfuffle: a lot of argument, noisy activity or fuss. 争论，混乱

Yet this hyperventilation provoked an angry response on social media and earned a swift rebuke from the People’s Daily, the party’s primary mouthpiece, which noted that “courage and responsibility” come in all shapes and sizes.

然而这种过度宣泄也引发了社交媒体的愤怒回应，《人民日报》也对此进行了谴责，表示“勇气和责任感”表现形式各有不同。

这里用到了provoke an angry response  和earn a rebuke

像之前的疫苗事件，外媒也用到了很多次provoke anger引起愤怒

rebuke: find faults angrily,scolding or reprimanding

Earn赢得，在这里是受到，得到的意思。

Earn a rebuke 受到谴责、训斥，这里的earn 还可以用receive替代

像之前纽约时报《告别虎爸虎妈》一文里，也有用到：

My teachers anointed me a genius, but I knew the truth. My non-Asian friends hadn’t spent hours marching through the snow, reciting multiplication tables. They hadn’t stood at attention at the crack of dawn reading the newspaper aloud, with each stumble earning a stinging rebuke. Like a Navy SEAL thrown into a pool of raw conscripts, at 6, I had spent much of my conscious life training for this moment.

老师们把我奉为天才，但我知道真相。我的非亚裔朋友没有像我这样花几个小时在雪地里跋涉，背诵乘法表。他们并没有在黎明时分专心致志地站在那里高声朗读报纸，一丁点磕绊都会受到严厉的训斥。就像一个海豹突击队员被抛进一群青涩的应征入伍者一样，从记事以来，我把大部分时间都花在训练上，就为了六岁那年入学的这一刻。

Sting 叮，刺痛stinging 形容词，刺痛的。Stinging也可以用stern严厉的来替代。在这里stinging更形象，父母的训斥不仅严厉更是刺痛孩子。

Rebuke还可以跟without搭配。Without rebuke 无可指摘，无可非议

看到这里，像最近的重庆坠江事件乘客殴打司机引起争论，我们也就可以借鉴今天学到的来表达。

It causes a kerfuffle/ provokes public anger /an angry response from the public when surveillance video shows the brawl between a passenger and the bus driver was the cause of the bus plunging into the Yangtze River.

The passenger’s assault  on the bus driver earns a rebuke from the public.
